Will liberal outlets like Politifact fact check the geography-challenged Bernie Sanders? Socialists like Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez aren't big on math. It just gets in the way of setting utopian, unachievable goals.
Take Sanders today. At the very beginning of his formal announcement video, Sanders set this goal: "an unprecedented, grassroots campaign of one million active volunteers in every state in our country."
Um, just a little problem there, Bernie. The population of your own state of Vermont is only 627,000. How can you possibly not know that? And there are five other states with populations under one million. So, yeah, it would be "unprecedented" indeed if in six states Bernie could round up more volunteers than the total of every man, woman, child, and Republican living there!

PS: what makes this gaffe particularly bad is that it was not an off-the-cuff remark made along the campaign trail. it was contained in his entirely scripted, formal announcement video. How could Bernie and his staffed have missed this?
Maybe he meant “voters.”
In that case, states with a population of, say, 600k could actually have over 1M voters.
That is, if Hillary and Bill let Bernie exploit the powers of the Democrat party.

Another thing that Bernie and his staff don’t seem to know or try to do anything about is the fact that Washington, DC, has a larger population than the state of Vermont. Wyoming too for that matter. Yet so far as I know he has never made any effort to get the people of DC the right to vote for people who pay their federal tax payments and should have representation in Congress. DC pays a far higher percentage of taxes to the feds than do most or perhaps all the 50 states. By percentage I mean the ratio of money paid to the govt. versus benefits received from the govt.
He’s an idiot, don’t get me wrong, but I think he meant a total of one million volunteers, working throughout the entire country.
Even Bernie can’t expect 50 million volunteers. If he has 50 million volunteers, all he needs is for each one of them to vote.
He has so much help, it would be pointless for anyone else to volunteer.
800,000 of those are Hillary supporters looking to sabotage his campaign.
