“A man can decide to be female, take hormones if required by whatever sporting organisation is concerned, win everything in sight and perhaps earn a small fortune, and then reverse his decision and go back to making babies if he so desires.”
personally, I find this confusing.
I can never remember who the pronouns are referring to in this trans world.
Who is the “he” who is “going back” to making babies?
And who won the 76 decath gold?
Bruce or Caitlyn?
I just find it confusing....
I'm confused just on that last part... would make more sense if the earlier part of the sentence ended, and then she said: "He can't make babies regardless of what he/she desires."
She is probably just as confused with all this weird pronoun crap as we are.
I find this confusing as well. Perhaps Ms. Navratilova needs a biology lesson, herself.
It’s not confusing. Women “have babies”, men “make babies”.
She seemed to be saying that if a man has a sex change operation to be a woman, it’s OK for them to compete, but not if they are just SAYING they are a woman, but still have a biologically male body.
