In the past, high school players were also eligible to be selected. However, starting in the 2006 draft, high school players were not eligible to enter the draft directly after graduating from high school. The rules now state that high school players will gain eligibility for draft selection one year after their high school graduation, and they must also be at least 19 years old as of the end of the calendar year of the draft.

(from wikipedia)

Lots of legal cases but the main reason for the one-and-done was because NBA GM’s couldn’t stop speculating on high school players.

For every Lebron James there were multitudes of wash-outs; the one-and-done allows the pro teams to evaluate players for a year and get a better handle on their skill level.

After what Nike pulled ala Kaepernick, it’s obvious it’s not run by responsible adults so it’s going to come through in the end product.

I believe he has no grounds to sue the NBA because the “one and done” rule is written into the league’s collective bargaining agreement with the players’ union.

Wow, that’s amazing, between you, the other poster, and the poor fellow in the game last night that’s 3 pairs of shoes just failing. I’ve never heard of anything like this.

This China made stuff is really flimsy crap, I’m getting quite sick of it myself.

#### My $12 Walmart running shoes can do that trick. But I bond them back with Shoe Goop and they last another year or so.#####

You took the words out of my mouth!!! I have been using the Avia and Athletic brand running shoes from Walmart for a couple years. I log a couple miles in almost every day and they are great! Especially at $12 -$15 wow!! I try to convince my kids and grandkids to try them , but NO, too snooty to give up their Nikes.

Wonder why Nike signing Colin K was such a great deal for them, as they claimed, why just one commercial?

espn's big night was a bust. the leftwing sports media's big night went boom in just under a minute. espn had hyped the game all week.

the anointed one was even there.

nike, who is sponsoring Williamson, was showcasing their product.

And then the unthinkable happened.

the nike shoe blew out. it literally fell apart as did the big night espn had hyped.

Puma supposedly immediately tweeted it wouldn’t have happened with their shoes and later deleted the tweet.

Talk about taking it to the competition. HA

I was never a fan of Nike always felt more comfortable in Puma or New Balance. I’ve heard, as others mentioned here, that their quality has gone to crap.
