Gee, my $12 Walmart running shoes can do that trick. But I bond them back with Shoe Goop and they last another year or so.
I had a Nike Air sole separate from the upper a year ago. I also used Shoe Goop to reattach the sole. So far, so good.

You took the words out of my mouth!!! I have been using the Avia and Athletic brand running shoes from Walmart for a couple years. I log a couple miles in almost every day and they are great! Especially at $12 -$15 wow!! I try to convince my kids and grandkids to try them , but NO, too snooty to give up their Nikes.
