Chaves county by unanimous commissioners' vote, passed 2ND amendment sanctuary.
According to the New Mexico Sheriffs’ Association, the 29 counties that are working to become Second Amendment Sanctuary counties or already have passed a resolution are:

I didn’t learn this sort of thing in Civics class in school.
I mean, I was told that the 2nd Amendment was sea to shining sea.
Can you link to the text of the language of the ordinance that is being passed by these counties? I’ve heard of some “Second Amendment Sanctuary County” ordinances being passed in some states that don’t don’t actually accomplish anything.
It might be of interest to some to know what this is, those of us not clairvoyant.

Some commentators have expressed concerns — even disgust — at Trump’s declaration of a national emergency re. the IMMIGRANT INVASION on our southern border. Their basis is that it would allow the next leftist in the White House to declare another and move against the Second Amendment and other of our liberties.
Chuck Baldwin outlines HIS concerns in the video at the link. Beside Chuck’s suspicions that Trump is just another Deep State shill, his main objection is that Trump is operating OUTSIDE of the Constitution’s requirement that his appropriation of funds for the wall falls OUTSIDE a clear expression of the “will of Congress.”

My response to that follows.
IF the invasion from the south is NOT stopped, the continued tolerance - ENCOURAGEMENT - of voting by welfare roll illegals who vote DEMOCRAT 70%+ of the time, it will guarantee not only a long succession of leftist Democrat PRESIDENTS, but solid majorities of leftist Democrats in BOTH houses in perpetuity.
What then will become the “will of Congress”? Can you say wide majority votes to abrogate the 2nd Amendment ( and damn near any other Constitutional provision/amendment) WITHOUT the necessity to declare Baldwin’s feared national emergency. The legislation goes to the Democrat president, is immediately signed and, if needed, HE or SHE declares the emergency and martial law for the weapons round-up!
For conservatives, libertarians and others who wish to preserve the Constitution, the entire national government will become ONE HUGE F**KING NATIONAL EMERGENCY the only corrective action for which will be the taking up of arms in a resistance that will make the Civil War pale!
I am one of those who STILL believes that Trump’s invoking a temporary martial law MAY be NECESSARY to prevent the massive riots I predict will take place if and when the round-up of the Deep State actors, the Clintons, etc. begin and, because they will be favorably treated in the civilian courts, they will face trial in military tribunals as the TRAITORS THEY ARE!
Because we have let this Deep State thing go on so long, I don’t see any other way to root these bastards out.

I think it has to do with law enforcement NOT enforcing laws that violate the second amendment- but I’m sure there are still going to be some restrictions, such as a person can’t own a machine gun without proper permits- rocket launchers etc- so in a sense, they won’t be true ‘sanctuary cities’ for 2nd amendment
Shame that we even have to create sanctuary counties to uphold what is by all rights an inalienable right given us by God

You have to take your state governemnt enemies of the Second Amendment to Uncle Benito’s Esso station to get them to cease and desist.
New Mexicans are in competition with Virginians to see who is the most liberal of former mostly conservative states.
Both the New Mexico House and Senate have passed slightly different gun control bills that prevent sales, barters or trades of firearms without a federal background check. Sales etc. between individuals would be a misdemeanor. A combined bill must be approved by both houses so that is the last chance to stop it, especially in the Senate where it was only narrowly approved.
All three branches in NM (house, senate, governor) were won by far left radical Democrats in November who are going after fundamental rights (i.e. against gun ownership and border security, and for voter registration for all and abortion up until day of birth). Oh, and for a state that receives 45 percent* of state revenue, they are trying ban fracking, make it harder to drill and increase royalty taxes all in the name of preventing climate change.
*It was 33 percent but recent news stories have legislators upping it to 45%.

I’m hoping against hope that the above will eventually happen, but, having been a senior FBI and DOJ employee and still having many like-minded contacts in the Bureau, DOJ and elsewhere, I’ve found no indications whatsoever that anything of the sort is going on. There have been a lot of cases (Chinagate, Khobar Towers, TWA 800 and more) - cases in which I was not involved, that details leaked beyond the investigative team and into the media. There have been no such leaks involving any of the numerous federal employees and appointees that have been implicated in conspiracy, treason, sedition, abuse of power, violations of national security classification guidelines, etc. - none whatsoever.
And the Tenth Amendment these days is nowhere to be found.
There is a big difference between the right to keep and to carry arms as contrasted to the laws regarding how arms may be used. They are way, way not the same. As far as infringement is concerned, that is the right you have of forbidding anyone to carry arms on your private property or into your home when duly warned.
Bernalillo and Santa Fe counties aren’t on the list. Why am I not surprised?
If this is true Sanctuary, are people allowed suppressors, sawn-off shotguns, fully automatic weapons? Is there no infringement?
Or are they just trying to have a little less infringement?
