I have not read the article because I think it would make me really angry. But none-the-less, in the time-honored Free Republic tradition, I will comment anyway. I would far rather be miserable, suicidal, etc., (none which I am by the way) and enjoy all the rights and take all the responsibilities of full and equal citizenship of this country, then live in some middle eastern country where women are chattel, or return to the 19th century of this country where women were regarded as chattel (although to be fair to the men of the 19th century, many felt that women should be franchised, and women did enjoy some rights such as the right not to be murdered by their menfolk, and did exercise some control over their own destiny.

Good and bad, I will take what we have now. And by the way, just because women have the right to vote does not mean that men have the right to be irresponsible jerks and abandon their families, and as long as men continue to do this, women will be inclined to vote for welfare programs.

In an era of feminist-demanded no-fault divorce where it is the woman who files for divorce 70 to 75 percent of the time, with “feelz” being given as the reason 80 percent of the time, the man abandoning the marriage is a significantly lessened statistical probability. That the so-called “strong, indepenfent” women, particularly those contributing to the 42 percent out of wedlock birth rate, champion increases in the welfare state as .gov replaces the increasingly absent masculine influence is de rigueur for the feminist mindset. The last study I recall on this topic, >70% of divorces in the USA are filed by women. So how is it that men are abandoning their families? I have not personally experienced this event, but numerous male friends have and in ALL cases the women abandoned the marriage.
