NBC has hit pause on the next chapter in Dick Wolf‘s criminal justice franchise, indefinitely delaying the launch of Law & Order: Hate Crimes, TVLine has learned. It was last fall that the Peacock network handed a series order to the project, which was to be based on New York’s actual Hate Crimes Task Force, the second oldest bias-based task force in the U.S. Former Law & Order: SVU boss Warren Leight was slated to serve as EP/showrunner.
The new Hate Crimes team was initially slated to be introduced during an episode of Law & Order: SVU this season. According to an insider, NBC is focused on getting the latest spinoff “right” versus “meeting an artificial deadline.”
“As with all of my crime shows, I want to depict what’s really going on in our cities and shine a light on the wide-ranging victims and show that justice can prevail,” Dick Wolf said in a statement last September when the offshoot was ordered to series. “Twenty years ago when SVU began, very few people felt comfortable coming forward and reporting these crimes, but when you bring the stories into people’s living rooms – with characters as empathetic as Olivia Benson – a real dialogue can begin. That’s what I hope we can do with this new show in a world where hate crimes have reached an egregious level.”
Will 95% of their cases be hoaxes like in real life or will there be magic and dragons.
They could have created one based on Jussie Smollett..just find a guy who said he had bleach thrown on him, a rope put around his neck, and he still holds his sandwich
The real unit wasn’t looking forward to an avalanche of fake hate crimes copying the tv show.
I’ll bet they were having a REALLY hard time finding any hate crimes perpetrated by whites against minorities, while crimes against whites by minorities is rampant everywhere in the inner cities. Therefore, NBC (Nothing But Communism) canceled the show.
All the criminals will be White, Trump voting males...

And victims will all be Democrat politicians, SJWS, “gay”, black, Muslim or abortionists. And they will, of course, all be very virtuous and sympathetic.
I actually like all of the Law & Order shows except SVU.
Frankly I really the first three season of L & O when Michael Moriarty and Chris Noth were on. Great shows.
The early years of L&O were the best.

I think you are right....take a look a SUV law and order. it was a good show. not anymore. now it has a agenda that it pushes. I loved the show years ago. I ll not watch it today because it is now propaganda that attacks conservative philosophy.
To be believable, they’d have to have 3/4 of their plots be where the “victim” faked their own “hate crime”.
Hate is a motive, not a Crime.
They didn’t learn a thing from the failure of their last Law & Order True Crime. They are killing their cash cow with all the PC cr@p they are shoving into SVU.
I heard that they decided to run the Law & Order: Hate Crimes series on the Science FICTION channel.
