Good. Really dangerous when you get huge sheets of snow/ice flying off a tractor-trailer.

The rare big snowfall in the south is comical with people driving around with what looks like snow cakes on the roof, like they want everybody to see how much snow they got. It does blow off at highway speeds, sometimes in a big sheet which can be dangerous. Sliding forward over the windshield when stopping is a problem too, if temps are warm enough for melting on the surface of the car. There’s no law here requiring that the entire car be cleared of snow that I’m aware, but it’s just common sense no matter how proud you are of your accumulation, lol.

When it’s just snow, use a soft-bristled push broom. If it’s ice, defrosters. Don’t even try to scrape it.

They really overuse some words, shame being one of them. Just is another. I’m surprised they didn’t say the driver just got shamed. They were schooled. Fileted. Mocked. Just mocked. We are letting kids redefine words and they are deleting the concepts behind the words. Shaming is something you do about morals like sleeping with your best friends wife, not driving while covered with snow. Of course you might get beaten up in the process. But if we “shame” people for being fat or driving with snow on their car or any number of Twitter Tweetable offenses we lose the concept of actual shame.

Old Jeeps were notorious for poor heaters. The heaters in my 2014 Rubicon and 2018 Cherokee are capable of smelting iron ore. Five minutes of warm up with the defrosters on high will pretty much clear any snow and ice on the windows (and on the ragtop Rubicon, will usually melt any snow on the roof).

Growing up in The Burgh, the saying was “Don’t be a peephole driver”.

I still have my king size ice scraper / brush, hasn’t been used in many years.
