... A married 32-year-old teacher was arrested Friday for an alleged sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl at her Lyndhurst home, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said. Lauren Mitchell was charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child and was being held on $150,000 bail. She has also been ordered to refrain from any contact with the girl, who attends the school where Mitchell teaches second grade but is not one of her students. Authorities began to investigate when Mitchell and the student were seen by teachers having “inappropriate” interactions during a class trip. The school, Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School in Jersey City, contacted the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, who contacted Bergen County law enforcement. Investigators believe Mitchell and the girl had “at least one” encounter at the Mitchells’ home.
15 is a sophomore. I’m surprised there are schools in NJ that cover K-12. Isn’t NJ almost all relatively densely populated these days?
