Just spent the weekend in downtown Minneapolis. I love living in a small town. Most of our kids can’t wait to move to a major city. The only one not enthralled with the idea of city life is the one who is in school for law enforcement.
My son lives in Dinkytown as he’s a student at the U. It’s fun to visit him and go to Tea House University. I love Szechuan food which isn’t available where I live now.
It’s still always a relief to go back home though and leave the tall buildings behind. I worry about my kiddo living there. He was robbed at knife point in Uptown last year. Thankfully the feral yute was arrested. It was pretty traumatic for him and for us.
I’m so thankful your son is ok.
It’s a crazy world. A coworker’s son was mugged at gunpoint in St Cloud last year. We were all shocked, but we shouldn’t have been; it was in St. Cloud. Last fall I inadvertently walked my little kids into a drug deal at a park in Willmar. Later found out that everyone (except me, apparently) knows that the peninsula is where deals take place. The son going into LE had a chuckle over that story.
