"...Cicilline called upon lawmakers to pass the bill to protect LGBT individuals against discrimination. “In most states in this country, a gay couple can be married on Saturday, post their wedding photos to Instagram on Sunday, and lose their jobs or get kicked out of their apartments on Monday just because of who they are. This is wrong,” he said."

What a load of bull pucky.

"The bill states that it is designed “to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and for other purposes.”

It's always the "other purposes" that makes it toxic to civil society.

What two consenting adults chose to do behind closed doors is none of my business. When they force me to acknowledge them as "special" in public, when they force their notions upon my children, then it becomes my business.

The “none of my business” view of such behavior is the slippery slope towards the “special in public” (i.e. their being “more equal than others”) epoch. Like it or not, such behavior even “sub rosa” incurs wrath from above.
