I’m skeptical.
Yorktown Heights is the corporate headquarters for IBM.
It’s very expensive to live there, so I am instantly suspicious that a bank would issue a loan for a single family home based on a “group” down payment, or that her parents could afford the monthly payments on their own.
Second, the public schools in Yorktown Heights are as good as you can find in the USA.
I’ll speculate that 25% of the kids in her class were Asian or Jewish, which means that the other 75% of kids probably ALL needed “remedial education,” too!
Her parents lived by bourgeois values. They moved her to a white neighborhood because the schools are better. Sandy acted white.
Professor Amy Wax was castigated as a racist for suggesting that minorities adopt bourgeois values.
