Actually, there are many more than that near metro areas.

I get 77 channels from an indoor antenna 55 miles from the transmitters. It is on the 2nd floor and pointed out a window, but it’s still blocked by houses and hills. I’m near the bottom of the first hill blocking it.

Some are foreign language, but also adventure and oldies and such—all free. I’d get 20+ more, if closer.

Yeah I get 54 but most of them are either MSM network affiliates, PBS, or not worth watching. More power to you if you find some good stuff though.

In the boonies there is little choice - even ‘local’ channels are fuzzy they are so far away. A TV antenna is, where I live, just a waste.

The major network local affiliate stations are all on a mountain 58 miles from me in Birmingham. Indoor antennas are sold in local department stores, but I’ve never talked with anyone who’s tried any of them.

What antenna are you using? I’ve almost bought one several times, but still haven’t so far.
