That’s the bottom line. Rick Harrison - of Pawn Stars fame - said that socialism is like heroin. It feels good at first. But it will eventually kill you. This sad story is more evidence that Harrison is right.

Socialized medicine creates demand for a service that doesn’t exist. Chances are most of the patients taking up space were not emergency cases, but could have been helped at a clinic rather than an ER.
This happens every day in every major city in the US.
