I get your anti-FB position; I share it.
However, FB appears to be one of the largest concentration of sheeple who are susceptible to our message.
Many of us are no longer inclined to stand on street corners waving a sign, but, instead, have developed online techniques for our activism.
For most of us, that begins with FR -- but, for effective outreach, we must step outside our comfort zone and put our message where it can be more broadly effective.
I don't "do" Twatter, but have used Youtube, and sometimes grit my teeth and present our case on FB.
If you like, call it "sacrificial activism for our cause"...
