“Lawmakers say the money will be spent to fix the MTA”

Wait! They can use the Amazon tax breaks to fix the MTA now!

60th Street is below the Bronx, right? Otherwise, you know who would need a raise. But otherwise, yeah, it’s all good. Twelve years to live and all.

The deal includes congestion pricing, a controversial plan to charge drivers below 60th Street in Manhattan.

So the street itself is the boundary, right? If you're going west, just don't turn left, and if you're going east, don't turn right, correct?

The best way to fit the Manhattan congestion problem is just dont go there.

“How will they collect the fees and how will they enforce it?”

That was my question - and it would seem to be a pretty obvious one for any reporter to address.

As an aside, I used to use the Willis Avenue Bridge to get on and off Manhattan without paying a toll - that’s only useful if you’re going East (or North) from the island (or at least it was), but I really hated shelling out anything to those bloodsuckers.

The provision also allows cities and counties to opt-in to a 5-cent fee for paper bags.

Oh, boy. THAT I hadn't heard. Definitely buying the bags online. Or buying my groceries in Pennsy.

Plastic bags in my neck of the woods are harder to recycle.

Wow makes me sad for what used to be NYC, glad I got out of there to a free state in the late 90s. Its nothing more than a tax slavery state now.

How about a few toll booths on the LIE and the SSP? That should take care of raising money.

"A panel of experts will set the surcharges by the end of 2020, but sources tell CBS2 drivers in cars will pay around $11.50 and truck drivers will pay about $25. Possible discounts for some are still being worked out. "

Does anyone know? If I pay the toll on GWB, lincoln or Holland tunnel, do I still have to pay the $11.50?

Here's an article from the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, outlining the who bag plan:

NY's plastic bag ban: How will it work? When does it take effect?

There’s a discount for those living in the area. They apply online.

I never understood how that stood up under the “full faith and credit” clause.
