If they are non-white, they qualify for preferential treatment, e.g., minority business set asides, affirmative action, etc. The Dems will make sure to claim them as victims of white oppression. Hell, even Hispanic whites enjoy special privileges.

People always vote with their feet, and this is just one more piece of evidence that “white privilege” is something made up as a political tool by Cultural Marxists. When there actually was white privilege in this country, even South-Asian Indians used to sue to be counted as whites. Now some feel they are losing out on their Affirmative Action and “Scapegoating Whites for Everything Wrong” cards.

All these groups are Caucasians...as are Spaniards, who are not “Hispanics.” New World people of Spanish descent, known as Hispanics, have a large admixture of Indian and African bloodlines, so I guess that’s why the government gave them a special ethnic category. That is, they can be mixed. And probably also for political purposes.
The “racial” determination is a bit outdated anyway. For the purposes of keeping it simple, they might just put in areas of family origin, such as Europe, Eurasia, Asia, Africa, Polynesia, and Latin America (the latter being the only place, thanks to the Spanish policy of marrying anybody and everybody, that has a large mixed-race population). If they want, they could include a country of origin designation.

It's possible that one reason this has happened is because Jewish people, and specifically Jewish people from the Middle East and North Africa countries, were once classified as “non-white” by the Census Bureau.
On the other hand, only a tiny percentage of current USA immigrants from those countries are Jewish.
Also, the Census Bureau allows Hispanic persons to “self-identify” as “white.” - and millions of them do.
Bottom Line - these classifications deceitfully adjust statistics to make it appear that “white” people with European heritage have higher welfare use and higher crime rates than they actually do.
For real drama, ask a Macedonian to identify as Greek.

Iran is part of Asia last time I looked at a map. So obviously she is Asian? She might not want to claim Asian because they don’t get affirmative action.
Why did she not speak up then? Why now? The answer is because now it would interfere with him running for president. The DNC is really vile for trying to pull this same game again that it used in 2016 against Bernie Sanders. Joe Biden is something else again. He will not be taken down with the same kind of an attack. He will actually rise above it and become the democrats main candidate. Whether he wins against Trump is another issue.
