Great idea.

I suggest the pilot program be the UN headquarters. Somewhere off the Cape of Good Hope or the Horn of Africa would be perfect.

Let’s get cracking on it.

No. Waste would be brought to land for disposal. Inhabitants would depend on farms on land for food.
Ocean weather and waves would remove all traces of the latest dumb idea hatched by man.

Cities have sunken over the past, this is true. But did the oceans rise? Or did the ground sink? And what did man do to cause it?

As everyone knows the value of coastal real estate has plummeted around the world due to climate change-—right?

Riiiiiight. And all coastal cities have stopped issuing new building permits and are advising their residents to move inland to higher ground.

Even IF there is man made global warming and sea levels rise there is still plenty of high ground inland to move to.

The Rocky Mountains, the Andes, Alps, Himalayas and numerous others would never be underwater.

New Yorkers could move to the Catskill with a current elevation of 4000 ft.

How high are sea levels expected to rise? 7 meters? 10 meters? 20 meters?

A 20 meter rise would be about 65 feet.

> Where has the sea risen? Where?! I have never seen any undeniable sea rise. <

Now and again, a report will come out saying that the oceans have risen 2 cm over the past year (or whatever). Then everyone at CNN frowns and looks all worried.

But these reports never include a calculated estimate of uncertainty! Every proper scientific measurement must include such an estimate.

The estimate of uncertainty could be, say, plus or minus 3 cm. That would make a measurement of 2 cm completely worthless.

When there were news that a Section 8 apartment was going to be built in my neighborhood, many people fled because they knew their property value would go down.

Yet, so many liberals playing to believe the oceans are rising, and no one sells their Beach property.

That’s what I’m wondering!

I was in NYC last summer, I sure didnt notice anything underwater that wasn’t supposed to be.

But you’re mistaking weather for climate.

A great idea! And, once the base island is established, it can be grown and sustained by the inhabitants fishing plastic out of the ocean with butterfly nets.

There will need to be an offset, every time you float something in the water the level will rise.

Social justice will be easily maintained, anyone violating today’s rules can be voted off the island.
