Empire actor Jussie Smollett will no longer co-star in the Broadway revival of the play Take Me Out amid lingering charges that the performer staged a hate crime against himself, according to a report.
Jussie Smollett delivered a reading of the 2003 Tony-winning play in New York City 12 hours prior to allegedly faking a racist and anti-gay attack in downtown Chicago. The Daily Mail reported Tuesday that the 36-year-old California native has since been “cut” from the play, citing the controversy surrounding the January 29th ordeal. “Everything was set to go and the producers were planning to announce that Jussie and Zachary Quinto were starring in the play last month,” a Broadway insider told the Mail, adding, “Everyone was so supportive after the attack and then suddenly, everything shifted.”

I wonder if the phone call yesterday of him in the parking lot in Hawaii begging for whoever he was talking to to believe him that he didn’t do it.
He had left his family in a restaurant to take the call.
Deserves to be banished and shunned.
And I am sure there are 2 random Trump supporters who could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time are grateful they aren’t in prison because of his lies.
I hope he gets what he deserves. Michelle used her influence to get her pretty little friend out of trouble and he may not do the jail time he deserves, but his career is over.
He got away with the crime but now he’s box office poison? I can live with that.

“Not Without My Anus” was the fartwarming story of one man’s struggle to find his daughter in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq that took him all of one second.
I can hear him serving fries, “I was somebody famous once.”

Apparently not. From the article: "Empire actress Taraji P. Henson has said Jussie will return to the Fox Entertainment program next season despite the ordeal."
Henson is saying what she has to say. Smollett won’t be back and rumors have it, neither will Empire.
