The video is disturbing, as is the non-action of the teacher.

Sorry, but the teachers are the biggest deterrent to success in public school education.

That recent mosque shooting in New Zealand? They made a HUGE deal of the video being put on the internet. They just caught some folks releasing it, and they will be put up on charges. An early comment by the Prime Minister made it sound like putting up the video was their primary concern (not so much the shooting itself).

Send this video to as many people as you can flood the country with it.

If the teacher physically interferes he or she does so at his or her own legal risk.

The protocol i have been told iirc is to call the princials office.

If the teacher then calls the principals office he or she waits for the principal to determine what to do which may include bucking the issue back to the teacher without further direction or placing the teacher on indefinite hold or determining that the teacher is ineffective in classroom management skills as supposedly are taught in ed school.

On average i hear public Teacher burnout occurs within 5 years. They migrate to private schools or change careers.

Damn, what a useless teacher.

All he does is tell another student(I presume) to go get a VP, run. He does nothing to stop the assault.

Yep. Self defense and good samaritan act is considered like making doors that open outward and not inward, violating cop access to you and property just as much as you would want to deduct criminal access...

Forget about it, OldSaltUSNR.

Eric Clanton’s multiple counts of skull smashing Bike Lock attacks earned him only three months probation.

And he was the teacher.

I’ve never met a TENURED public school teacher in NJ who left the field before retirement; they may transfer out of the urban sh!thole districts to nicer ones, but that happens early (before they near 6-figure salaries) or it doesn’t happen at all. I suspect that with seniority, they also get some say in their assignments - so new teachers are sent to the worst classrooms.

There is simply no way someone under 50 is walking away from a job pulling in $100K for 180 part-time days of work, with summers off and guaranteed employment for life. It just doesn’t happen - though it may in states where public school teachers aren’t the upper middle class.

not only was the teacher a soy boy but so were the rest of the ‘boys’ in that room. They wouldn’t stand up for the victim in an ambush attack.

If the girl wants to fight she needs to take it outside and make it fair.

What the victim girl should do now, if the school does not expel and press charges against her attacker, is ambush her attacker and kill her. If people are going to act like animals then they must be treated like rabid animals.

we can’t survive as a society unless we start weeding out these bad people.

The non action from other students is also disturbing. No one does anything to defend that helpless kid on the receiving end of this beating.

“And California wants to ban homeschooling…”

Too many cases of child abuse and deaths have occurred in ‘homes’ where biological and adoptive parents pretended to be ‘home schooling’. So there should be oversight and regular inspections made in the interest of helpless minors.

Read this horrifying report:
https://www.responsiblehomeschooling.org/policy-issues/abuse-and-neglect/abuse-in-homeschooling-environments/

A 17-year-old homeschooled student in Kansas City was found chained in his parents’ basement. Two homeschooled children in Palmdale, California, were locked in their rooms each day and had their hands bound with zip-ties. Calista Springer, also homeschooled, was chained to her bed in her parents’ Michigan home, where she died in a house fire, unable to escape. One theme of abuse in homeschooling settings is confinement and isolation. Other themes include food deprivation and controlling “totalistic” families. Homeschooling is also implicated in cases of missing children and child trafficking, along with identification abuse and medical neglect.

It isn’t the teachers. It is the rules under which they are required to work. Shift your blame to the policymakers if you ever want to make progress.

Gangland. Nobody wants to interfere and get jumped by 5 other kids in the bathroom as a consequence.

If a male student intervened he’d likely be punished more harshly than the girl doling out the beating.

“not only was the teacher a soy boy but so were the rest of the ‘boys’ in that room.”

If that had happened in eastern TN, I think it would be a different story. I’ve noticed that boys seem to respect women, and protect them.

Some of us are born again teachers working in what we consider a mission field. Many have no idea of the number of fatherless children we educate. the establishment will weed us out soon enough.Howwever, while we can help, and educate, adding to the needed skills, provide role modeling, and teach the truth in the classroom, we will Endeavor to persevere.
