Does not the brain control the central nervous system???

The heart stopping should not affect the nervous system if the brain is still functioning...If this is so, then a person could still move with the heart stopped...

You quickly pass out of consciousness due to lack of blood pressure from your heart stopping. This is within seconds.

No, the oxygen requirements for muscle tissue is too high.
You will not be moving very long after the heart stops. About as long as a shot deer twitches, and that is it.

Brain tissue uses much less oxygen.

In Scripture, the anthropology of man is comprised of Body, Soul, and Spirit. he Body have 5 senses as methods of perception. The Soul has logic and reasoning as senses of perception. Faith is a system of perception in the human spirit. In a quick nutshell:

While the body may influence the soul, it shouldn’t be identified as the soul. So the Brain is not the soul, though the brain may influence the soul.

When God, who is Spirit, regenerates a human, He is regenerating the human spirit. The Human spirit also becomes the dwelling place for God the Holy Spirit during this Church Age. The spirit also may influence the soul. When in fellowship with God, this theological process is referred to as sanctification.

There are many testimonials of those who have suffered a physical death (Death is a state of existence involving separation.) or a separation of the soul and the body, which may last considerable amounts of time,... more than can be accounted for by physical measurements and identified medically as neurological physical forces.

The human brain, though, upon many deaths, simply deteriorates and is no longer physically functional. There may be studies such as this article reports, where some out of body experiences reported may be identified with physical measurements of neurological activity, but care should be taken because many scientific studies may be conducted with a conflict of interest in attempting to “disprove” Scripture, rather than accepting all evidence available in their arguments in order to verify the actual processes they study.

Yeah - I’m thinking that the shock effect protects the brain from going nuts...how many folks had a traumatic incident and never regained memory of the period directly leading up to it...or had the “bright light syndrome”...never heard of a case where one came back and said it was a nightmare ..(of course, I haven’t looked for such a case either...)
Plus, I also imagine the soul is in sudden contact with some of God’s “emissaries”....it’s one of those things nobody will ever (maybe) know until it occurs on a personal level...
