“If this were happening today, with a Republican President, as it was then, the media and the left would be pushing the theme of ‘can we really afford this?’, ‘Shouldn’t we be spending this money at home?’, ‘Was there negligence by the President?’, ‘What is the administration hiding about Apollo 13?’, etc. etc.”
We were blessed back then to live in a Nation where our identity was to be an American. American’s going placed none had gone before. American’s doing the impossible as we had been doing since the Revolution. We came together. We were still mostly Christian. Our values were solid.
Seems like such a long time ago..
