I'm afraid that Mr. Stephen Smith was the wrong skin color and the wrong ethnicity.

If Mr. Smith had been a muslim mohammed-come-lately with 4 wives and 15 children, he would have been given a council a couple of new council flats and a couple thousand pounds per month in perpetuity just for laying about and reading the Koran.
