I can relate, as I do much better in writing than I do in speaking when I need to get points across.
Why not type your email, then use it to make a list of the important points, and check off each one as you bring them up on the phone?
Agreed. Calls are the way to go for initial contact.
Try a phone call or a real letter.
Attorneys are in business. If a prospective client says he has little funding and the case is not the type which usually works off “contingent fee”, such as auto crash injuries or medical malpractice, then a regular law firm will not be interested, nor do all firms give “free” initial consultations to explain why they can’t take a case. Time is money. There are free pro bono publico clinics for people who lack funds but have a worthy case.
Because most want a consolation fee, an up front amount, just to hear your grievance. Their time ain’t free. (just from my experience)
Morgan and Morgan wont return your call?
consultation. spell check
“Credit Unions? I’ve been wanting a piece of them for years.”
Haha. It seems like everything in life can be traced back to a Seinfeld episode. Thanks for the laugh this evening. I think I’m going to go buy myself a hot beverage tomorrow and go watch a movie....
Seriously
Get a local lawyer you know to hook you up with someone or go through a legal referral service
Or research law firms who sue credit unions
One problem could be if you try to get a lawyer in a town where the credit union is they cannot represent you if theyve represented the credit union or its principals before
In a small community thats an issue
Good luck
I think you might be right. Thanks for that.
Thanks to all for your posts they are appreciated and we will use your suggestions.
Your emails are in some spam folder. Pick up the phone.
Call them, they don’t read their emails
I have relatives who are Florida attorneys. Almost all Florida attorneys’ e-mail addresses are published. The amount of spam they get is amazing. They would answer e-mail from someone who is a client, but someone out of the blue? Not likely. Call them or make an appointment to visit. Or, write them an actual letter and send it via snail mail.
Florida is a big state. In what area are you looking to hire a lawyer?
Try Morgan and Morgan HQ’d in Sarasota. I’m sure you can google them, they seem to attempt to have their faces everywhere possible. Big time ambulance chasers. I suspect they’d take your case so fast it will make your head spin.
For the people

If you want the courtesy of a conversation, give them the courtesy of a phone call or a visit. Some cases may be too small to be worthwhile...what’s the beef with the Credit Union?
They are too busy replying to Col. Adute Ngowase of the Nigerian Air Force, who was forced to flee after a failed coup attempt, and needs their assistance to get his $23 million in gold bars retrieved from the Central Bank of Malta.
