I’ve been enjoying those Beefsteak brand burgers for many years! Fully cooked, nuke and eat! Good for a work lunch, too...and real beef!
Eating this chaff stuff is well and good as long as it’s voluntary. Trouble is it won’t stay that way. It will become edict eventually. But why? Ethical reasons? That will be the smokescreen. I'd have to look at the particulars of DNA engineering for some ingredients to see if it would bother me. Much of agriculture has come about due to "natural" forced breeding, so not all DNA manipulation has to be bad. The devil is in the details.
We’ve been warned for years not to eat highly processed foods, and this is highly processed soy.
Also, if MEAT is so bad, why do they make the highly processed soy burgers taste like MEAT!

Dream on. I actually cook and eat some meals using soy meat and these are delicious. But these are specific meals.
As for a soy burger I ate it too and it is awful.
