I've started making a list in my head of pointless characters that nobody cares about or serve no further purpose that they can kill next week so they can keep the "shocking" deaths going.

They may as well be. Here's how bad the "shocking" deaths are. SPOILERS AHEAD

In most of the recaps from the "everyone is at risk!" battle where only a couple of B list characters actually killed and nobody at all was wounded they all forgot about one of the "shocking" deaths, Melisandra who served no purpose and nobody cared about and thus her shocking death is actually pretty much just forgotten. Just like the other three people who died (well, I liked Jorah but his story was over, he was just filler at this point).
