Woods physically can’t recover week to week. He hasn’t even played since Augusta. He just made it through the Masters, knowing that course like the back of his hand was huge in his win. Bethpage Black, how well does he know that course? Nothing like Augusta. The Summer will wear him down. The US open being at Pebble Beach will be a better opportunity for him... familiar course and cool Coastal weather.

Woods does not play well in windy courses and Pebble falls under that problem with winds less than a week ago close to 14 MPH. This is why Woods seldom plays in Hawaii or Texas. And with his inability to hit fairways, Pebble is a lot less forgiving than the Black Course at Bethpage. Miss a fairway at Pebble and you might be swimming for it a lot more than what he failed at over the last two days.

Another problem the winds cause is the greens being inconsistent. And Woods is not a very good putter as the PGA ranks him tied for 130th in the world in putting. He may be going home early again since he can’t hit fairways, especially in the wind, and is not a good putter to start with without the greens at Pebble being tough.
