Pregnant Middle Eastern women are taking advantage of the United States’ policy that gives foreign nationals the ability to secure American citizenship for their children so long as they are born within the parameters of the country. A local report by ABC 7 Chicago detailed how pregnant foreign nationals are traveling to the U.S. to deliver their children to ensure that they are given American citizenship.
One doctor who spoke with ABC 7 Chicago, Dr. Mia Norlin, said most of the women she sees in Chicago hospitals taking advantage of the country’s birthright citizenship policy are from the Middle East.
The report noted that websites advertising to help foreign pregnant women come to the U.S. to deliver their children often offer six-figure packages.
Currently, the U.S. and Canada are the only developed nations in the world that offer unrestricted birthright citizenship
About one-in-five U.S. births — or 791,000 — are to legal and illegal immigrant mothers, with legal immigrant mothers accounting for about 12.4 percent of those births and illegal alien mothers accounting for 7.5 percent.
The U.S. Supreme Court has never explicitly ruled that the children of illegal aliens must be granted automatic American citizenship, and many legal scholars dispute the idea. Trump promised last year to end birthright citizenship through executive action, but the order has yet to be revealed or signed.

“The jurisdiction requirement was added to the original draft of the Fourteenth Amendment by the Senate after a lengthy and acrimonious debate. In fact, Senator Jacob Merritt Howard of Michigan proposed the addition of the phrase specifically because he wanted to make clear that the simple accident of birth in the United States was not sufficient to justify citizenship. Sen. Howard noted that the jurisdiction requirement is “simply declaratory of what I regard as the law of the land already.” Sen. Howard said that “this will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons.”

No other countries are insane enough to consider a baby born by currently foreign parents as one of their citizens.
The left loves it because it helps destroy the country.
We need a law to clarify that any child(ren) born in the U.S. to non-citizens as a result of any illegal entry into the U.S., or overstay of legal entry of a temporary nature, shall not receive citizenship benefits.
Smart people can easily come up with the proper airtight verbiage.
Or maybe President Trump con do a “stroke of the pen, law of the land” executive order to revoke/nullify the citizenships of anchor babies nunc pro tunc. Let the dems squeal and force it to end up at the Supreme Court.
