Absolutely ridiculous. There’s a simple solution, and it’s the same as for marathons. Make it a crime to speak — boast — of one’s participation in a marathon or Everest ascent upon pain of death. The only reason people do these things is in order to boast of it. “Yeah, I’m training for the House of Pancakes Marathon.” Instant arrest and death penalty.
Why do you consider this a problem you need to solve?

I always considered people who run marathons, as people who never read the end of the story... but thats just me.
So, it would be a crime for me to mention that I ran Boston in under three hours? Achieved a goal through hard work and dedication? Kill me now!
