Need help with iPhone

Hello Folks. Little help needed here. Got my first iPhone, the XS Max and when I log in to FR the font size is terribly small. Cannot figure out how to make it larger.

Try the Opera browser. If you enable the “text wrap” feature, you can do the two-finger expand and the text will rearrange itself so you don’t have to scroll sideways to read everything.

I have to turn my phone sideways every time I want to read FreeRepublic. They bring sideways helps make it easier to read.

When I FReep on my droid I turn the phone sideways for a panoramic view, I use the two finger spread from the center to zoom to the point of capturing the text, though I lose the sidebar, and I wear my readers.

Pretty much what I do with an iPhone 6S. Phones are not my preferred way to read things on the internet. I always turn them sideways (iPads and Kindle fires, too).

The main problem is that FR looks like a website that was last updated in 1994.

What you mean is that FR is missing all the bells, whistles, clutter, and crap that "modern" sites force down your throat. Thanks, but I like it the way it is.

Many would be around 1% at most. Sites that haven’t bothered updating things in over a decade.

Sad thing is, it’s not that hard. Add some classes and IDs to hook into with css. Then choose a css grid framework like Bootstrap or Foundation. Either that or hand code the css using @media to target different devices/screen resolutions.

Don’t need to change the look or add any bells/whistles/clutter/crap to make it mobile friendly. It’s just css. Might add 15kb to a page.

That was your first mistake, if it was a personal decision (mine was issued by work).

I would NEVER recommend an iPhone to ANYONE after using it for 5 months. POS, it is.

I don’t understand this religion of Mac/Apple; sycophants. Cultists. Whatever they are, it’s not rational and certainly doesn’t meet the minimum standards for this geek.

Fyi, I have the same problem with FR. I turn it sideways but there is no other solution I’ve found.
