A two-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard Wednesday which attacked him at his family's staff quarters inside Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The terrified toddler was bitten repeatedly on the neck and body, and despite his distraught parents rushing him to hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The boy was stalked by the female leopard at the technical services area just inside the Malelane gate into Kruger.

This is why toddlers have an instinctive fear of monsters in the shadows and the dark.

God, that was a funny segment. They way he pokes at the stump with his pipe and Eric Idle just sits there, reading his book.

It’s not the leopard’s fault but the parents’. They basically dangled their kid as a treat in front of predators.

We stayed at a camp just outside of Kruger and our "room" was in a tree...you had to climb a ladder to get in.

But leopards are great climbers.

In the compound of our camp were little Nyalas roaming around...Nyalas are great little snacks for leopards.

Leopards are amazing animals and survivors that have thrived, kind of like coyotes here. They are nothing to fool with. Many of the professional hunters in Africa are scared to death of them, they come so fast, fortunately their attacks don’t result in death as often as lions and elephants. One of my PH’s was recovering from leopard bites when I hunted with him about 10 years ago.
