The mad monk Rasputin had an undue influence on the Czar and his wife and actually had a say in Russia’s prosecution of WW I. Soviet leaders, who publicly disavowed religion and were professed atheists had their personal astrologers who they frequently consulted. Too bad there are no records of those conversations and how they affected policies. The Russian people have bizarre superstitions that have been an inherent part of their culture and history.
