I remember the vast majority of people LOVING Elton John, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Robert Plant, and Mick Jagger in spite of their sexual exploits, not because of them. They were loved because of their talents. Bohemian Rhapsody took that direction. I'll admit I haven't seen the Elton John movie, and probably won't, until it comes to TV, though I loved his music in the 70s, I can't understand why they would focus on his failings rather than his genius.

The craziest thing is something the article stated as just a throwaway line, but it may be the most startling and prescient thing in the article.

Hollywood should make movies for everyone.

Faggotry is the “In Thing” these days.

I’m right there with you; back in the day, I didn’t care about that stuff - Hell! I didn’t even know about that stuff!

I just liked the music. Now they throw their faggotry in your face right out of the gate and you’re supposed to worship them for it. Not their damn music.

Shut up an Sing - A*holes!

Apparently because Elton John wanted it that way - he wanted a "warts and all" biopic focused solely on him as a person.

Freddie Mercury wasn't a solo artist - he was the lead singer for a band that he loved (he created the Queen logo/coat-of-arms representing each member of the band), and the surviving band members had a lot of input into the movie. It was a movie about Freddie the musician.
