Famed fashion designer and socialite Gloria Vanderbilt died at the age of 95, following a battle with stomach cancer, CNN reported on Monday.
Vanderbilt, best known for turning blue jeans into high fashion, is the mother of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
"Earlier this month, we had to take her to the hospital," Cooper said. "That's where we learned she had very advanced cancer in her stomach and that it had spread."

I used to wear Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. They were the only ones I could find that fit me right. And I could walk in the store and just buy my size without trying them on.

Yeah that was a while ago. lol Now I can’t stand to wear jeans. I found some really thick, not too tight leggings (they’re more like tight pants) at Kmart of all places years ago. I order about 7 pairs of the long ones for winter and 7 pair of the the capri ones for summer every year. They’re super cheap. And I live in them. Jeans just hang in my closet now for special occasions. lol

The good ole days. I’m a thin male and nothing fits me anymore. No such thing as Slim work type jeans. Regular cut is baggy on me.
It should...IIRC, she was one of the first of the designer jeans empires to sell out to Big Fashion. That's why they are dirt cheap, nicely stretchy and made in China. I see them in the old-people clothing catalogs that I seem to magically received (now that I am old people).
