At least two people were shot near a rally celebrating the Toronto Raptors' NBA championship on Monday, Toronto police confirmed to CBS News. The two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Two people have been detained in connection with the shooting, and two firearms have been recovered, police spokesman David Hopkinson told CBS News.
The Raptors' celebration was briefly suspended in the commotion. Police were investigating the incident, which occurred at around 3:45 p.m. as one of the Raptors' owners was giving a speech.

No, there are guns but they have beyond preposterous rules, regulations, restrictions etc. The closest we have to it are states like CA, NY, NJ etc. However, not even those shithole states approach Canada.

It is illegal to shoot people with them.
It is illegal to posses a handgun without a license. I doubt that these perps had bothered to obtain a license.
Jeez, I’d make some snark about how shootings at NBA-related celebrations are more shocking when they *don’t* occur, but perhaps I’m being unfair. Perhaps the shooter(s) confused “Raptors celebration” with “rapper’s funeral”.
After all, and as we’ve all come to expect, what would a rapper’s funeral be without at least one shooting?
