there are plenty of Russian ‘immigrants’ in W.MA... just sayin’..
It happened in NH.
They arrested him in MA.
He fled.
Fedzilla is likely there for more than fleeing the scene.
And many are in the car transportation business.
They undercut the price quoted by the reliable car transporters. An F350, or similar, and a trailer that can haul eight, or so, cars, and off they go.
When many people search the web for transporting cars over a long distance, especially antique/performance cars, at the lowest cost, they are exactly what you get - young eastern Europeans who only know how to get from point A to point B in the least amount of time.
If true, it could explain why there was no way for the cyclists to evade his vehicle. Whatever the cause was, the outcome was a great tragedy.
NH is a very beautiful place, and has many miles of scenic roads that are popular places to ride. Our drivers go out of our way to be extra aware of and careful around motorcycle riders at this time of year. Sadly apparently that wasn't the case for this truck driver from Massachusetts.
I imagine that the MA police went to pick him up, and they did so based on a determination that he was not in custody for the NH warrant.
Not to mention that if you’re running drugs, I’ll bet a transpo biz comes in quite handy...
Not really. He was released by the NH police and returned to his home in Massachusetts.
Subsequently NH issued a warrant once they had more fully investigated the circumstances of the crash.
The double-Y at the end of his surname suggests he’s probably Ukrainian.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE. [federal] Any person who has fled from any State to avoid prosecution for a crime or to avoid giving testimony in any criminal proceeding. 18 U.S.C. One who, having committed a crime within a jurisdiction, goes into another in order to evade the law and avoid its punishment.
If what you say were true he would be facing an extradition hearing. However, you could be right and this fugitive from justice could be on an unrelated issue altogether.
Why the hell is a car wreck becoming a federal case?
...in his residence
They searched his house in a traffic case? Must have had something to show a judge to get a search warrant?
Trailer for hauling cars, and drugs... wonder if he has organized crime connections bond jus heroin.
How could he flee, his truck was wrecked at the scene.......
...beyond just heroin.
That question seems to already have been answered.....
"He was arrested Monday morning on a fugitive from justice charge related to Friday's crash, which is standard for someone charged in a warrant in another state, Massachusetts State Police said."
West Springfield is ground zero for illegals in MA, just sayin’.
There are plenty of Russians in Eastern MA too.
