It's narcissism and a pathological need for attention. It's not enough to be who you are but have an echo chamber (the kids I am around (who don't know who I am outside of a carefully crafted image) cultivate being around others exactly like them and any dissent is immediately called down in crab bucket mentality and close to being doxxed) and a constant reinforcement that what they are doing is right. But the train left the station years ago.
Wardaddy upthread specified it so well, in that the kids have their own echo chamber in the reinforcement of viewpoints and anything natural and heterosexual is looked upon with disdain, especially from women/girls in particular.
That's why they are out, loud, and annoying.
