Stunning aerial photos show Glastonbury organisers putting a colourful event together, full of tents, stages and bars as thousands get set to make their way to one of the world's most talked about music festivals.

The coveted event is set to kick off tomorrow in Somerset, lasting until Sunday, with a star-studded line-up.

Pictures give an insight into how much space the event takes up as well as a sneak peek into the myriad of stages and events that attendees will be able to enjoy.

Some festival goers had started to arrive at the event earlier today and were pictured in shorts and wellies as they hopped over puddles, following heavy rain which has hit the whole of the UK.

The first day of the festival on Wednesday is likely to be cloudy with some chance of rain, with temperatures feeling no higher than 68F (20C).

However, temperatures are expected to climb during the week, reaching a peak of 80F (27C) on Friday, before dropping again slightly at the weekend.

The photos are very impressive. The setup looks like someone went crazy with Monopoly houses and hotels.

They seem to be desperately concerned with non biodegradable glitter being smuggled in.

Alice Cooper, BOC and Jethro Tull are not playing.

So why should I even care?

:D

Reminds me of when I attended a rock fest on a meadow next to the Rhine in Germany ion 1973. Half my platoon piled into a VW van and we sat camped in mud for 2 days listening to the au courant bands from Blighty.

On the Glastonbury website, organisers said: 'Please only use biodegradable body glitter.

In my day we used to drop the brown acid, and it was GOOD ENOUGH FOR US! Kids these days...

Do they still have the Isle of Wight Festival?

IMHO The Who’s set at the 1970 Isle of Wight is the greatest concert, ever.

The entire concept of wearing body glitter has never occurred to me.

My life must be even duller.

It’s sometimes used when you’re dressing kids for their dance recital.
