That’s a loathsome cartoon. Political “humor” today is nothing but unhinged rage and fury from the left.

Only after Bill Gaines and Al Goldstein passed away. The cartoons in the margins were the best! If the MAD people in its heyday were alive today, they would rip the Democratic Party to a zillion pieces. God help us all on what Gaines would have allowed parodying AOC and the Antifa movement....

Lefties “captured” it, and do what lwfties always do - namely destroyed it.

Because the world has become so crazed that the ridiculous has become mainstream and protected from ridicule.

Back in the day it was funny. Their ability to point out the foibles and stupidity of everyone was refreshing. I have seen the latest issues at my local public library and it has that disconnected from reality feel to it. They follow the form of a joke but there is no humor. Last issue I read did not even elicit a smile....I just stopped reading....goodbye to the poor parody of a once somewhat relevant publication.

I had noticed that the art work - which was so brilliant in its hayday - had really fallen off in recent years. Apparently, kids cant even be trained to draw anymore in this country. The last time they made me laugh was their hilarious take down of Bo Bergdahl.
My guess is that just like with the Superhero comics, they pay even less than they used to.

It may also be computer-generated art. MAD never paid much at all to employees.

Dave Berg wrote a book about his relationship with God. Do any of the current staff at Commercial MAD even believe in God?

Al Jaffee is in his 90s. Was he still doing fold-ins and Snappy Answers?
Is he now out of work?

MAD went rotten politically but before that (and after that, some, too) it published some very funny stuff!
I wish I still had my MADs, ha!
