Of course he is. Rick Wiles of Trunews had the scuttlebutt months ago that the next Bush gen and Trump reached a deal after Poppy’s funeral that neither side would be criminally exposed. Sure a lower-level coup operative or two would eventually get nailed for something and the House would continue to nip and Trump and his family, but in general little would be exposed and neither family would get hit.
Barr was the Bush family enforcer put into the AG role by agreement (my guess, with Joe DiGenova negotiating) to enforce the deal—on both sides.
Nothing I have seen since suggests anything other than this explanation pertains.

I think you’re theory is spot on, however Trump will be indicted the minute he leaves office by that New York D.A. So any deal made by Trump wont save him from political prosecution after he leaves office.
He defended Lon Horiuchi pro bono, and advocated complete immunity for Federal killers.
That is part of his actual government track record, and nothing can convince me it is good.
