I was there, truth be told it should have been held in front of the capitol. Most of the space is taken up by the reflecting pool and the trees on either side block any view of the memorial. The photo didn’t show just how many people were in those trees but none of us could see a thing.
If it was crowded and well-attended, then any media/prog claims to the contrary will be denied by all those voices/eyewitnesses. And each of them will tell many others.
Lying is going to hurt them even more than then they already are.
1) It was rainy.(I’m assuming hot and steamy, since it’s DC in July)
2)There was short notice.
3)And it was still packed.
