To the “who cares?” crowd. Many care, this isn’t 1965. I’m not going to condemn the entire team because of a couple of players. It was an exciting match, they’ve worked hard, and most of them are very proud to be representing the USA.
This is one of the few events where we can cheer on a USA *team* (vs. individuals in the Olympics). Same goes for the men’s team. The only other major sport where we come together is ice hockey. The rest of our sports, NBA, NFL, etc. are all city based celebrations.
I’m happy for them, especially the younger players, this is an amazing experience for them. For those that think soccer is just a fringe & boring game that nobody really cares about in the USA, I’ll just suggest you’re out of touch - it has grown leaps and bounds over the last 30 years.
The US women can’t beat the Under 15 boys academy squad.
Who cares if the media is now proclaiming them “the best in the world”.
Cup of what? Who cares.
Womens soccer is an inferior product. I guess its cool that people are so excited about a team that gets beat by under 15 boys on a regular basis.
One US Womyn World cup team was recently beaten by a HS boys team
Who wins what? I would have to have the mind of Einstein to be able to care less.

I don’t get it. This was an interesting game, the offiating was spot on, and the best team won. And they had U.S.A on their uniforms. I watched and pulled for the U.S. to win.
Of course some on the U.S. team hate America. So be it. If you going to boycott anything on TV that includes America haters you might as well sell your big HDTV right now. Most Democrats hate this country - some more than others.
Soccer is not a political game despite what some players say off the field. It is a game of skill. Politicize it if it makes you feel good. Not me. I like sports.
Now we will see 100 articles demanding the men give up more of their money to the women.
And we will see another 100 articles trying to make the White House visit an attack on Trump.

sorry- but this was a world sport where the team represents the United States of America- and rapino was vulgar- foul, and disrespectful- she made it political- I like sports too- but i hate vulgar disrespectful loud mouths who are supposed to represent our country- they are a disgrace to our country- as someone in the thread said- winning isn’t everything-
