Thanks for posting. Interesting.
Rest in peace
That's ludicrous on it's face. Good grief! Just like Trump, Perot wasn't one of the good ol D.C. boyz. Just like Trump, he had to fight political smears/propaganda/deceptions from the MSM, Dems and Republicans.
The establishment took him down. They were successful. Not so much in Trump.
Perot was a true American patriot.
That was a tough one. HW turned out to be a stinker and Ross was a fresh breath of air and did a lot for POW’s. Unfortunately, the way our dysfunctional system worked a vote for Ross was a vote for the filthy Clinton carcass.
I agree,I think he dropped out bc he realized he was about to WIN the election and didn’t think it had been a realistic possibility. I voted for Perotin 1992 and have no regrets, he was a good man, did a lot for Vietnam Veterans and the missing and he was pre-Trump in analyzing a lot of the Deep State tools being used to subvert us. People say well he gave us Clinton; but was the latter really any worse than the false front Bush family who detested middle America just as much as Hillary?? I don’t regret helping push Poppy out of office although I did vote for him over Dutaxus in 1988; I only wish I had not voted for his idiot son as well.
You can quit wondering now.
For sure?
He was also correct on all his charts. I worked in the Perot Systems building in Plano for 3 years and it was like walking through a museum in that place. In one corridor, all of his charts were on the walls. Everything he put on those things ... every prediction ... spot on.
I was also there for his 80th birthday celebration at the office. Michael Dell was there (they had bought Perot Systems shortly before I started there), Dana Carvey sent a recorded message. Ebby Halliday (the realtor mogul) was there, and so many more. That was pretty cool.
Also along the hallways was a lot of military memorabilia, including a walking stick of Osama Bin Laden. The troops that found it gave it to him. It was reportedly left behind after they almost caught him in Tora Bora.
The political perspective of AMericans really has been put through a blender the last generation.
I would never have voted for Perot, as he was pro-abort, but I do not believe that he cost George the Elder the election.
Besides Perot, Pat Buchanan’s campaign where he scored 38% against an incumbent president should have been taken as a warning sign.
When Perot jumped in, many Establishment experts assumed he would take votes from Clinton because of his gas tax, pro-abort, and government interventionist stances. These experts read the public’s perception completely wrong. As a result, Bush the Elder pussy-footed around Perot until it was too late. He also made no effort to address the dissatisfaction of the base, relying on anti-Clinton sentiment to rally the troops. It wasn’t enough.
Bush lost the election. He wasn’t entitled to Perot votes.
My sympathy to his family
“As Trump demonstrated in 2016, Perot would have been better off running in the GOP primary than as an independent in the general election.”
The GOP like the DNC had things already “figured out” besides the globalist (George Herbert Walker Bush) was an incumbent, traditionally Republicans don’t put somebody else besides the incumbent into the campaign as the party primary. Pero would have never been allowed to run as a GOP because 41 was the company man.
In 2016 Trump was a spoiler, plain and simple. The GOP let him in not thinking he would perform very well and they were wrong. Out of the whole field of GOP candidates in 2016 Trump was the only one that could have defeated HRC, because he roused the public to the polls. Pero could never do that against Willy Jeff.
All Pero did as a fairly strong independent was split the vote and William Jefferson Clinton waltzed right into the White House, I wonder if Slick even thanked Pero?
Well, okay... Rest In Peace or whatever...
yep
Oh no! A great guy who I always respected. RIP
Are you referring to "The Day Reagan Was Shot," in which he portrayed President Reagan?
Regards,
Yes, he was 100% correct and if GWB had actually been a conservative applying conservative policies as POTUS, Ross Perot would not have mattered.
In a round about and painful way, Ross Perot helped expose the Bush clan for the liberal globalists that they really are. It took Trump to finally pull the curtain.
I am in agreement with you here.
“Hers the deal...”
