This book is an absolute "must have" if you like American whiskey, scotch, Japanese or Canadian whiskey. Every time you go back to reread a section of this book, you will start drooling over the thought of a shot of good sipping whiskey....

barley

+

rye
corn
(other grains >:( )

+ distillation

+ barrel aging

= whiskey

It’s that last part that creates the most variation. I never developed an experienced palette. I just like peat smoked barley. :D

“you will start drooling over the thought of a shot of good sipping whiskey....with one ice cube in it. I was amazed when I first experienced how one ice cube opens up and electrifies the flavors of a fine single malt scotch.

Bourbon is the only American liquor.
There are rules and restrictions on the ingredients in Bourbon and how it is made.
Like a barrel must be made of oak and it can only be used Once. 50% must be corn.
While whiskey can be made in a dirty bathtub in Ireland.
And there are NO rules or regulation.
Just saying
