Alice Cooper will release a six-song EP, "Breadcrumbs", on September 13 via earMUSIC.
Described as a "tribute to the garage rock heroes from his hometown Detroit city," the EP includes covers of MC5's "Sister Anne", Suzi Quatro's "Your Mamma Won't Like Me" and MITCH RYDER AND THE DETROIT WHEELS' "Devil With A Blue Dress".
Joining Cooper on the recordings are MC5's Wayne Kramer, jazz singer Paul Randolph, former GRAND FUNK RAILROAD member Mark Farner, ex-DETROIT WHEELS drummer Johnny "Bee" Badanjek and Mick Collins.
"Breadcrumbs" will be made available digitally as well as on 20,000 numbered 10-inch vinyl copies.

Alice may be old but he's very smart. As covered earlier this year, vinyl sales are up while CDs and downloads are on their way out. Streaming is the name of the game.
As most of us know, Alice is a good guy on multiple fronts. I wish him nothing but success.
The wife and I just purchased tickets to see him this Friday in Kansas City. I grew up on some of his songs. Glad there is an opportunity to see him before he hangs up his Spurs.

“Breadcrumbs”
Heh.
Funny guy.
Luckily, I not only have all my old albums, I also have two regular turntables and two USB to MP3 tables.
If memory serves, as a teen, I paid $10 for Welcome To My Nightmare, back when JC Penney still sold records.
The vinyl being sold today is $35 and up.
Even the few used vinyl stores around want crazy amounts for a “passe’” medium.
I hate streaming.
All my stuff is on my iPods.
Probably my best vinyl is the gatefold pop-up Tull album, “Stand Up”.
You open it and Ian and the boys spring to life.
They don’t make neat stuff like that anymore.
It’s become very popular again. Technics is gearing up the TT production. I was at a flea market CD’s are dirt cheap, while next to me the lp boxes were being thoroughly seaerched through.
I also read where cassettes are also in vogue. I guess 8 tracks are next?
He will never “hang up his spurs”.
He has often said he intends to drop onstage.
:)
I have a unit upstairs with a combo turntable, radio and 8 track.
I’m ready.
:D
“I’m 51, and I don’t know what I want”...
Wait, something wrong there...
I can’t even think of a word that rhymes.
I was hoping for an Alice Cooperized tribute album to Glenn Campbell.
But do you have one of THESE?
I got interested in RTR years ago. I bought a version of Beethoven's 9th and I never heard such sonic quality in my entire life. I once recorded an EP on 1" reel, and even though it was ultimately released on CD it felt totally bitchin' to be on tape.
Now, RTR players don't always work perfectly, they sometimes chew up the tape, and they are hard to carry when you're out for a jog. They can't be beat for the quality but, unlike with the vinyl revival, there aren't any new releases (or old ones) coming out on RTR of which I'm aware.

No more Mr.nice guy!
I can, but I think I would be banned for life if I said it. 8>)
Sadly, no.
O.O
