That can’t always be avoided. Some bicyclists are really reckless riders and they can move really fast.
There have been a few times when I want to make a turn and there is nobody in my line of sights and I move forward and, out of the blue, a bicyclist darts in front of me as I’m moving into the turn.
There are a lot of accident involving only cars that happen like that too.
Definitely many more across the country than involve bicycles.
It would be interesting to see how many are “courier” riders on bikes. Also would be interesting to see how many motor vehicle/pedestrian accidents/deaths.
