Yeah, darn that Catholic Church for not allowing people to have bibles in their own language! If there weren't any Pope in charge we wouldn't have this problem!

Well, until the KJV came around, English speaking Catholics were able to make do with the original Douai-Rheims New Testament in 1582. It had to be printed in France and smuggled into England.
