Woman suffers complications after having abortion, has to have emergency hysterectomy

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A woman was forced to have emergency surgery and a hysterectomy after suffering complications after having an abortion at a clinic in Baton Rouge.

The procedure took place in early 2019 at the Delta Clinic on Colonial Drive. However, details did not come to light until the anti-abortion group, Louisiana Right to Life, discovered the incident during a recent search of public records.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) ultimately ordered the clinic to agree to a long list of corrective actions before it could continue operating.

According to the incident report compiled by LDH, a woman who was 15-weeks pregnant underwent an abortion at the clinic and then began experiencing heavy bleeding. A nurse tried to administer emergency saline on the patient, but found that the facility’s crash cart did not have any saline on it and another medication she needed was expired. The nurse ultimately called 911 and the patient was transported to a local hospital, where she was rushed into surgery, according to the LDH report. The state later inspected the facility and found it had failed to “order and maintain a supply of emergency drugs” for stabilizing and/or treating medical and surgical complications on the licensed premises,” according to the LDH report.

No one answered the phone at Delta Clinic when WAFB tried to reach the clinic for comment Tuesday, July 30.

Her uterus was a concentration camp anyway. Best to shut it down.

Should be mandatory for any woman who has abortion.

Didn;t say how old she is but if young and without children she’ll one day regret this decision.

The best abortion clinics promise a 50% mortality rate. This is one of many that perform below even that low standard.

I can’t say I have any sympathy for her. She chose to get pregnant.

Any woman who thinks she might have an abortion should have a hysterectomy. Problem solved and no child needs to die.

Not so.

Think of Abby Johnson, who was a PP clinic manager in Texas, had two of her own babies aborted, experienced (through the mercy of God and the intervention of some good prolife people) a true, profound conversion and total change of heart ---

..., and is now a mother of eight little pro-lifers and who knows, maybe more?

And is one of the major, most effective pro-life activist/organizers in the whole blessed country!

She's not the only post-abortion women I've known or heard of, who has a similar story.

Jesus still saves.

God is still pro-life.

Same thing happened to my 17 year old sister.

She is now 66 years of age with no children or grandchildren of her own.

Very sad.

Hmmm. Since all liberals believe in abortion, that might be a good solution. Sooner or later, their vile breed will just die out.

Agree with you about Abby! She had a major heart change. Only Jesus can do that.

Not a good solution. "Thinks she might have an abortion" could just be youthful ambivalence. There are a surprising lot of good wives and mothers, vocal pro-lifers very much included , who went through some stage in their life in which they at least thought abortion was a possibility.

If all these women had hysterectomies, in a generation the USA would be a country of wide, wide, wide open empty spaces.

Do not underestimate the number of women who have gone from pro-maybe (or even pro-abortion) to pro-life.

Cases like that are so rare that they should not be the basis of opinion or policy. Most women who have abortions have at least two; very often, they become rabidly pro-abortion.

I have no sympathy for those who become sterile as a result of abortion. They should have avoided getting pregnant in the first place.

I do have pity for those who injure themselves.

Doesn't Jesus have pity on us?
