Our pastor always makes the point when talking about the destruction of Jerusalem and being carted off to Babylon on how yes, it was a TERRIBLE time - think Hitler, Pol Pot, etc. all combined. BUT - afterwards, the Jews never did worship idols again. Well - the god idols. Jews have the same problems as Christians today that “worship” success, wealth, status, etc.
