What about the “role and contributions in the history of this country and this State” by:
Disabled persons
Chinese persons
Persons of very small stature (midgets)
Blind persons
Mexican persons
French persons
Polish persons
Russian persons
Norwegian persons
Swedish persons
Japanese persons
Brazilian Persons
Spanish Persons
Italian Persons
ect,
ect,
ect,
ectt ad infinitum
So why not all those others?
Because they only deserve a mention if there is something otherwise noteworthy about them, unlike LGBT persons who are to get a mention just because they are/were LGBT persons.
They get attention because deviants are big political donors. In ten years there will be courses glorifying the contribution of pedophiles to American history.
I had a history textbook that mentioned some woman’s name because she started the first kindergarten class for black kids in Los Angeles. The same text managed to leave out the Wright Brothers.
There are huge numbers of celibates who contributed, and still contribute, magnificently, to our civilization, nation and culture,on every level: religion, philosophy, art, architecture, music, literature, journalism, history, law, medicine, education, politics, civic leadership, mathematics, technology, astronomy, biology, physics, anthropology, and all the rest.
Hundreds of thousands of celibates.
Many (but not all) were vowed celibates. Think of that!
As for adulterers, Oh my goodness, I can't even count that high.
